Gay Rights Supporter Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones Dies

Ohio Representative and Democratic superdelegate Stephanie Tubbs Jones has died after suffering an aneurysm while driving her car on Tuesday night. A strong supporter of gay rights, Tubbs Jones was elected in 1998 as the first black woman to represent Ohio in Congress. During the 2008 presidential primaries, Tubbs Jones was one of Hillary Clinton’s biggest supporters. She changed her allegiance to Barack Obama in June after he was established as the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

IndyCar vixen Danica Patrick struggled through the past few event series races, and now her frustrations may be manifesting themselves off the track. Patrick, competing at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this weekend, had some choice words for her fellow competitor Milka Duno, the only other female racing, when the two got in a fight on the track.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Brady Quinn is turning out to be one of the hottest young players both on and off the field. This week, however, the 23-year-old stunner has come under some fire after it was reported that he was yelling anti gay slurs and harassing patrons outside of a Cleveland bar. Quinn adamantly denies the accusations, and the Browns are supporting their player.

Madonna Gets Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nod

Madonna's name tops the list of the musicians that will be enshrined next year in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Others joining the Bay City, Mich.-born pop star at the induction ceremony on March 10 include John Mellencamp, Leonard Cohen, the Ventures and the Dave Clark Five.

World's Largest Gay Church Joins United Church of Christ

The Cathedral of Hope, known as the 'world's largest gay church,' has been accepted into the United Church of Christ (UCC), becoming the fourth largest congregation in the 1.2 million-member denomination. The Rev. John H. Thomas, UCC general minister and president, said he welcomed the decision of the North Texas Association.

United Church of Christ's Newest 'Edgy' Gay-Inclusive TV Commercial
"Ejector seat," the United Church of Christ's newest television commercial, will begin airing nationally on April 3, just in time for Easter. In addition to television spots, the UCC is purchasing internet ads and blogads as a way to boost the church's overall exposure during the three-week run.
